Adventures in Middle School

Can’t wait to share this with my students!

My fourth grade students and I are huge fans of book awards. We followed the Newbery and Caldecott closely, I shared with the m the Schu-Jonker Top 20, and they each counted how many Nerdy Book Club winners they had read. I’m super excited to teach them about Children’s Book Week. They will be super pumped to find out that they get to vote for a book to win a national award.

I’m really looking forward to sharing Mr. Schu’s post of resources for each of the books.

Work in Progress

One new student, one permission-less student, no public blog yet. Like most things in education, it all takes more time than you expect. However, it’s pretty amazing to feel the energy in the room when the kids are turned loose to create videos for possible posting! The challenge will be keeping the fun while retaining some semblance of academics.

First Day Jitters

We are getting ready to go public with a class blog tomorrow, if all my permissions come in on time. The kids are much braver than I am about sharing their writing with the entire writing universe!
